Gear up for grilling...Memorial Day marks the official start to grilling season, and we've got plenty of meaty options for cooking over those hot coals. For starters, check out the great assortment of old-fashioned, handcrafted sausages from Holiday Italian Sausage, a family-owned and operated business since 1973. Whether it's brats, Italian hots, or handmade sausage patties, Pat Casa and the crew at Holiday turn out a superior product, made with fresh, boneless pork and custom spice blends -- and never any additives or preservatives. (Chicken-based Italian sausage is available, too, in both bulk and rope forms.)
And when it comes to the all-American hot dog, Five Star Meats has you covered, with six different options, including all-beef, all-meat, natural casings, and skinless.
On the side, how about some zesty potato salad, made with Ohio-grown spuds from Michael Farms, in Urbana, Ohio? No need to buy those road-weary out-of-state spuds when these all-purpose whites are so tasty and convenient! Plus many chefs find that, because they are fresher, locally grown products have a far longer shelf life.
